The Mentalist follows Patrick Jane (the top left guy) who has like super brain powers. Well, not really. He's just really observant. Basically, he works with Lisbon and her team to solve murders. It's generally a bit more lighthearted than the normal cop show but what it does have is a deeper story.
Jane used to be a pretend pychic untill we annoyed the murderer "Red John" so much that he killed his wife and children. He knows it was him because he leaves this creepy face on the wall in blood.
A couple of episodes cope with the red john thing and the question about what exactly Jane will do once they catch him.
Highlights include Van pelts and Rigbys secret (yet not secret at all) relationship as well as the best opening scene of a Pilot EVER. Check it out-
