Desperate Housewives (So far...)

Desperate Housewives begins each new series with a new mystery- whether it's what are the neighbours keeping in their basement, who strangled Julie and whats up with the new plumber Mike.

This is the less interesting things for me. I just love watching about the lives of the women on Wisteria Lane.

Brees alcoholism, Susans failed marriage, Lynettes pregnancy issues, Gabrielles husband going blind ect. All of it makes you root for these women.

It's refreshing to see a show which is completly based on females, with the men describing themselves as dispensable.

These men, however, are three that have managed to last all the way through. And what makes the programme is their relationships with them, especially Tom and Lynettes family. Lynette had cancer and it was truly heartbreaking to hear Tom speech

*sobs*

Brothers and Sisters "A bone to pick" (Season 4 episode 11)

So last episode was Justin and Rebeccas wedding, which didn't quite happen because Kitty collapsed. This episode is based around the idea that Kittys chemotherapy isnt working and so she needs a bone marrow transplant. The only person out of all the siblings happens to be Ryan, the half brother, who just happens to be avoiding the Walkers because of his recent disruption of the winery which caused Rebeccas mother to lose all her money.

A little bit complicated, yes. As usual Rob Lowe was brilliant, revealing to Kevin that he is seeing a shrink to cope with everything. Thankfully the show skips 3 weeks later to reveal that not only is Kitty in remission but Robert also quit his race for governer and Ryan seems to have been intergrated into the Walker family.

The end.

Well, for now anyway.

Brothers & Sisters (So far...)

Similarly to Grey's, this show makes me cry all of the time. And it's usually because of Nora Walker.

The show depicts the lives of the Walker Family, with countless brothers and sisters and their mother. The show starts following William Walker, the fathers deatha and the realisation of his mistress.

The Main brothers and sisters are Kitty, Sarah, Justin, Tommy and Kevin.

Major plot lines include Justin going to Iraq, thinking Rebecca is their half sister but then realising that Ryan is and then Justin marrying Rebecca (phew!) Kitty and Robert, a senator, getting married as well as Kevin getting married to Scotty.

The beauty in the show comes at family dinners where somebody always ends up crying or getting slapped. They are disfunctional- they all spend way to much time involved in each others business and not enough in their own. It's emotional and sweet and what I hope my family is like when we're all older <3

The Mentalist (So far...)

The Mentalist follows Patrick Jane (the top left guy) who has like super brain powers. Well, not really. He's just really observant. Basically, he works with Lisbon and her team to solve murders. It's generally a bit more lighthearted than the normal cop show but what it does have is a deeper story.

Jane used to be a pretend pychic untill we annoyed the murderer "Red John" so much that he killed his wife and children. He knows it was him because he leaves this creepy face on the wall in blood.

A couple of episodes cope with the red john thing and the question about what exactly Jane will do once they catch him.

Highlights include Van pelts and Rigbys secret (yet not secret at all) relationship as well as the best opening scene of a Pilot EVER. Check it out-

Criminal Minds "The Uncanny Valley" (Season 5 Episode 12)

I espeically enjoy the episodes of Criminal Minds where the killer is a female. They are more interesting because their motives aren't usually sexually based. (See, real life knowledge right there!)

This episode was about women who turned up dead looking like life sized dolls. Turns out a women is keeping them and drugging them to paralze them and keep as dolls. The synopsis for this episode wrote "Hotchener struggles coming back to work" erm...I saw no struggle. Which I'm glad for- the show is starting to get back to the episodic way it does best.

Also, Reid kicked ass in this episode. I was just looking at him thinking his whole appearance has changed so much since the first season. No longer is he this genius geek who kind of helps (well, he is still a genius) but now he's one of the team. :)

Bones (So far....)

I began watching Bones initially because of this man;

Sure, it might of had alot to do with Buffy ending but I had missed him on my screen. and my, did he look good in a suit.

Based around Forensic scientist Brennan who helps to solve cases with FBI agent Booth, the show is based alot around the chemistry between the two.

The end of the last season saw an episode in which you discovered that Booth had a brain tumour and, during his coma, he thought that he and Brennan were married. Therefore this season has become more interesting because Booth believes he is in love the Brennan.

Highlights of the show include Mr. Twitter himself Stephen guest appearing as well as the rest of the cast who hold down the fort greatly.

HIMYM "Jenkins" (Season 5 episode 13)

So last week was HIMYM's 100th episode, so it was gonna be alot to top, having had Rachel Bilson guest starring as well as a peep into the apartment that The Mother lives in.

But this week was still a good episode. Based around Jenkins, a new woman who starts working with Marshall, played by Amanda Peet. Marshall is convinced that he is not the "reacher" in his relationship so he tried to make Lily jeolous. In other news, Ted discovers that Robin is a drinking game amongst his college students.

Highlights of the episode include "But um.." and Marshall being a ski ball champion in a college bar.

P.S BIG NEWS! Neil Patrick Harris is said to have been signed on to appear in Glee! Not only that, but he will also be reunited with Joss Whedon, as it's the episode he's going to direct <3 CAN'T WAIT!

Law and Order: SVU (So far...)

I began watching this on holiday in Crete. It was one of the only shows that was played in English so I would wait up till the early morning and watch it. (Yes, that is how addicted I am)

I then discovered it is played quite regularly on the Hallmark channel and thus became my whole summer holiday of watching Law and Order.

The show is a spin off of the original Law and Order and focusses on the special victims unit which is in term focuessed on rapes, molestation, child abuse ect. Okay, I'll admit, it doesn't sound a barrel of laughs and it isn't. Its serious and its dark alot of the times but at the same time it's gripping.

Its quite episodic which means you can pick it up and leave it. Although a couple of long running storylines would be Bensons rape while undercover and Stablers family/anger issues.

Castle "Sucker Punch" Season 2 Episode 13

With the show normally containing alot of light hearted banter between Castle and Beckett, todays was alot more serious.

Some background: Beckett became a cop because her mother, who was alot a cop, was murdered 10 years ago. Last time she tried to find the killer, it didn't end too well for her.

In this episode it is disovered that whoever killed the latest victim, an irish mobster, was the same person who killed Beckett's mother.

The episode ends in a particularly sweet manner; Castle attempts to quit shadowing Becktt and she reveals some emotion (something she doesn't do very often) by telling him that he is nice to have around and that he makes the job more fun.

Episode highlights include Detective Ryans appreication of Johnny Vongs money making DVD as well as a cameo from Jenna Leigh Green, who played Libby in Sabrina the teenage witch.

How I met your mother (So far...)

Shown on BBC2 agggessss ago, I was taken by this shown. It was only shown on Sundays (strange) but was a sweet and yet hilarious show. Basically it is Teds future self describing to his two children how his meets his mother. and so far, we haven't found out. But that doesn't really matter.

The show is especially good because of this guy-

He is Barney, the womanising, suit wearing guy who is completly against love and everything it stands for. He tweets - @ActuallyNPH - and he opened the Emmys last year. He is fantastic.

The show is cute, funny, fresh and a modern take on romance. WELL worth a watch

Castle (So far...)

Essentially, I would go to see Nathan Fillion just sitting in a room. I have loved him since the moment my brother forced me to watch Firefly, a programme I was so set on not liking. and it was love.

But this show is actually good (which is shown by the fact ABC have kept it on) It's a normal procedural crime show but with a twist- it's not that serious. Castle is a novelist who, in the pilot, is dragged into helping solve a crime with the (naturally) gorgeous detective Kate Becket. Having quite the pull with the mayor, Castle manages to be allowed to help out on cases. He does this mainly by getting in the way alot and twisting the cases into potetional novels.

The relationship between Castle and his daughter is particularly sweet and the whole programme is just fun to watch.

P.S. Nathan Fillion is an avid twitterer, both as himself and as Castle
(@WriteRCastle and @NathanFillion)
Becket also tweets (@Stana_Katic)

Gossip Girl (so far...)

Gossip Girl is a bundle of clothes, backstabbing, gossip, hot guys and drama. And I can't get enough.

Blair and Serena are best friends who fight so often you'd think they were enemies. Chuck is a right prick, and yet so utterly attractive at the same time. Dan and Vanessa belong together and Jenny is becoming a right little cow. Sounds a tad confusing, yes, but once you start you just can't stop.

You know you shouldn't care, but you want to know who Serenas father is. You know it's not important, but you want to know why Chuck thought his mother was dead. and you know it doesn't make a difference to the world in any way, shape or form but you HAVE to know what Blair is going to wear to their next big event.

Greys Anatomy (so far...)

It is hard to find a way to describe how emotionally invested I am in the lives of those at Seattle Grace. The cast is massive and yet I care for each of them individually almost like they're my own children.

I weeped when Denny died, I was an emotional wreck when I didn't know if George or Izzy died, my hear softened when there was the fake candle house and everytime Alex, the broody bad boy makes a speech, I always bawl my eyes out.

I know what your thinking. Why watch a show that upsets you like this? Because that's how I want television to make me feel. Thats why I prefer it over film. You become so familiar with these characters.

This season is a bit of a rollercoaster. Izzy has been made out to be the bad guy, which is weird because last season we were rooting for her to survive her cancer. Meredith has been quite absent because she was pregnant in real life and could therefore only be seen from the bump upwards. The chief is the most interesting at the moment, with him taking up drinking and making mistakes its only about time until it all blows up. Brilliant.

Cougar Town (So far...)

To be honest, I thought this was going to be car crash TV. I love Courtney Cox but I don't know, Dirt didn't fill me with much hope for her future television prospects. But yet, I was quite suprised. In all honesty, it's not clever or witty but it's funny. It's simple humour but yet it is effective.

Court must be doing something right because she was nominated for a Golden Globe. I think the comedy is helped alot by supporting cast, especially Busy Phillips (@Busyphilipps25 on twitter) and Jordan from Scrubs (okay, I've forgotten her characters name.

It's not ground breaking television, but it's kind of a giggle.

Modern Family (so far...)

I stumbled across this by accident. I was on Twitter and found that Elizabeth Banks had congratulated them on getting a second season. I had never heard of the show (which is VERY unusual for me) so decided to check it out. And once I had, I watched all 11 episodes in a row.

The show is based around 3 families- Michael & Cameron, a gay couple who have just adopted a baby, Claire and Phil who have three childen and lastly Jay, Claire and Michael's father who recently remarried a young women named Gloria, who also has a child. Sounds a bit complicated? Here's a picture to help;

It's made kind of like they are doing a documentary, which is hilarious, especially with Cameron and Michael together (CASABLANCA!) and Phil alone. Highlights include Edward Norton cameo.

Given that it has only aired half of a season, the show was still nominated for a Golden Globe. (Unfortunatly lost out to the well deserving Glee) Now that it has a second season, I think this comedy is gonna scoop up loads of awards in the years to come. Heres hoping more people discover such a brilliant programme.

P.S. Pretty much all the shows stars are on twitter-
@jessetyler = Jesse Tyler Ferguson who plays Michael
@Ericstonestreet = Eric Stonestreet who plays Cameron
@SofiaVergara = Sofia Vergara who plays Gloria

Glee (So far...)

This is a brand new show for me. For once, I am actually watching this in British time rather than American schedule. I have only watched the Pilot and the second episode, but I have to say I have high hopes after if having won a Golden Globe yesturday.

It seems alot of fun. Cheesy, yes. But like the creator said yesturday "It's for everybody who has ever been given a wedgie"

Supernatural (So far...)

To state the obvious, I was drawn into watching Supernatural because of the two lead actors. I mean, come on. Just look at them.

But what it does manage to do now its fill my supernatural sci-fi hole that Buffy left *sobs* The first season was a bit forumlaic- they find a new case and "hunt" a creature, find the bones, salt and burn them and BAM the ghost/vampire/demon ect. is gone. But them it begins to get interesting. It begins to get alot more serious with Angels vs. Demons. Angels, by the way, were a very welcome treat to the show. I mean come on, just look at him.

Okay, okay, enough gawping. But in all seriousness, the show is well worth watching. When it is a little more lighthearted, it can be hilarious. And it's strange to watch a show which only has two central characters as opposed to a whole cast (e.g almost every other show on television, but most notably Hereoes.)

So this season is the big mama- Lucifer has been risen. And he's like super badass. So from here? Who knows, we shall have to wait to find out.

HOUSE (so far...)

I have watched House since the beginning. I remember seeing an interview with Hugh Laurie and finding it amazing that he was going to play an American, drug addicted doctor with a limp- very far from himself. But he does a fantastic job.

The best thing about the show is the character of House. His development over the seasons is so captivating! Especially his relationships with both Wilson and Cuddy. Most recently, Season 6 episode 1 was just brilliant. It was astounding acting, brilliant writing and even better co-stars in it. Wonderful viewing. Now the show has really started to get interesting. Having House off of drugs (well, kind of..) means that he's beginning to change. He'll still say the same sarcastic things but then he'll apologize. It's really interesting viewing.

I'm excited to see where this season will go. Will he end up with Cuddy? Will Cameron come back? What will happen to the team now that there is loads of them?

In news though, Cuddy is supposidly getting her own episode. It is only fair, Wilson got one to himself.

WELCOME! <3

Hello all!
A new year, a new addiction! I have decided to put my uncontrollable television addiction to good use- and make a blog :)

I'm gonna be up front about it, this blog will contain some spoilers and I'm watching most the shows in American time rather than British time, otherwise I would be waiting forever.

I think to start with, I should probably lay out my favourate shows and what I have liked about them up till now.

I will sometimes mention some films, as I go to see them. But only if I think they stand out.

Thanks for reading this far! x
